Hundreds show up for protest in front of Pearce office

LAS CRUCES - A rally and fake town hall session by progressive southern New Mexicans generated a crowd of more than 200 people Friday afternoon outside U.S. Rep. Steve Pearce's Las Cruces office. Demonstrators — part of the progressive Indivisible movement — said they rallied at the office, 570 N. Telshor Blvd., because of a lack of an in-person town hall session this week by Pearce, R-N.M., in the southern New Mexico 2nd Congressional District. But they expressed frustrations about a variety of broader issues, ranging from health care to public lands and the political agenda of Republican President Donald Trump.
